This particular track was created on my own time and was purely experimental in terms of where I wanted to go with the track, I started it with my basic routine of making some bass and drums and then started messing around with wavetable synthesis and processing to make alot of the industrial, dissonant sounds, once I had got a few of these down I started arranging the sounds into a track.
When arranging track I will always use the ableton live few with clips and automations being made and activated via te Maschine MK3, I feel this does alot for my productions in terms of groove and flow of songs as when I am playing the music live I tend to get a much cleaner and coherent arrangement.
This sometimes has its downsides as the sampler is not supported by ableton meaning I need to use 3rd party scripts which can sometimes be clunky and unresponsive but for this track it worked great and really helped me get ideas on the page
In the video attached is a breakdown of all elements and features of the song with explanations of things like sound creation, sound processing, mix bus breakdowns and effect usage.
I feel I got to breakdown everything I wanted to in the video and I would say its a good explanation of what's going on in the track as well as showing why I made certain choices of specific parts of the track. Below is the youtube link for breakdown and soundcloud link to track
Overall I am really happy with the outcome of the track, I have been sitting on this for a while as sometimes I finish or release music and feel I could have done more but in this instance I feel I put some of my best work into it and I feel it really paid off.
The track was originally only going to be used for my graded unit but after some thought I decided to send it around and have managed to get a release date for the 9th of June on Tribal Purpose, this is great for the growth of myself as an artist and the track as they work with other labels in the scene to gain a larger audience, I know this as I released a track with them a few months back which made its way to ROOVE Berlin and that track done quite well with not much promotion behind it as it was a really quick release.
For the release this time round my goal is for the guys at TP to get in touch with SOMA records as there was some discussion last time but we didn't end up getting there.
All mastered songs for the label will also be fully owned by me.
